The Cornell Center for Health Equity (CCHEq) was founded in 2018 and is led by Monika Safford, MD and Avery August, PhD. The CCHEq responds directly to community priorities by focusing on practical, relevant research and education topics. Susana Morales, MD leads the Diversity Center of Excellence and the Center’s Education Core. Health Resources and Services Administration Center of Excellence Program funds 19 programs nationwide focused on improving diversity in medicine and addressing health disparities.
